On 11 May 2019 Fleurenville hosted a ladies tea as a way of celebrating Mother’s Day and providing ladies, their daughters and friends with a lovely Saturday morning event that we hope will become an annual fixture. Guests were entertained by musician Jakkie Louw who played some of his well-known songs – and knowing the age group of many of our Fleurenville residents, treated the audience to a rendition of some of Frank Sinatra’s greatest hits to the delight of the audience! This was followed by an inspirational seminar from Impact Radio’s Janine van Niekerk. The ladies hosting each table were encouraged to decorate it in their own, unique style and a prize was awarded for the best table. Along with tea, coffee and delicious sweet and savoury snacks, we also had a few stalls for exhibiting selling arts and crafts, books, plants and home décor. The event was a resounding success with every available seat filled well in advance – which bodes well for next year!
