STATUS IN SOUTH AFRICA
The number of cases in South Africa has grown to 402. It has been confirmed that 207 of these cases are in Gauteng province. Based on frequent communications from the government, Fleurenville will be in complete self-isolation with immediate effect.
WHAT DOES SELF ISOLATION MEAN FOR FLEURENVILLE?
No resident may leave Fleurenville or receive visitors during this period. Residents with doctors’ appointments will be accommodated through our own transport, and specific protocols upon returning to the facility will be implemented. Other preparations and provisions as per our previous Coronavirus response statement are still in place.
Family members who wish to see a seriously ill resident may request special permission from Mrs Estelle Dannhauser, Nursing Services Manager. One visitor and no children under the age of 18 allowed. Special permission visitors may not have any physical contact with the resident, and will be required to wear gloves, a mask and plastic apron during the visit (provided by Fleurenville).

WHAT ABOUT STAFF AND OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS?
All staff are screened daily per shift to ensure that they are well enough to perform their duties and do not pose a risk to each other or residents. Therapists will still be available at Fleurenville but will also have to adhere to stringent infection control protocols. No other service provider (unless absolutely essential) is allowed on the premises.
UNTIL WHEN IS FLEURENVILLE IN SELF ISOLATION?
We continuously monitor the situation and will follow guidance from the Department of Health. You will be updated as soon as the situation changes.
